Meet Our Team
Chiropractor Steve Abercrombie D.C.
Chiropractor Julie Dunfield
I first started working for a chiropractor after graduating from college. I needed a job, and my mom was going to a chiropractor for pain, and heard they were hiring.
I was one of their front desk receptionists, and loved the interactions I had with all the patients on a daily basis. My main job duty was to make sure that the patients were directed through the office in a timely fashion to receive their adjustments on a regular basis.
What I noticed in the first several months was amazing.
As I started to get to know people by name, and then their family members as well (who were also getting their spines checked) it dawned on me that chiropractic is a family matter. The doctors in the office were not just checking people for pain, but were preventing symptoms from happening for the parent’s little children as well. We were seeing so many kids coming into the practice, and some of these kids had suffered with ear infections, chronic asthma, allergies, stomach problems. What was amazing to hear was that the parents were talking about how their baby no longer is colicky, or that their son no longer suffers from asthma when he plays baseball, or that their daughter no longer gets an ear infection every time she catches a cold at school.
It was miraculous, but true healing was actually taking place before my eyes…not just “relief of pain” which is what my impression of chiropractic had always been.
This position in the chiropractors office started as a job to earn money. It evolved into my passion for wanting to create the same miracles as a chiropractor myself.
